The Buffalo Bean is a community weblog launched in March 2008 with the purpose of growing an online presence for conservatives and the Republican Party in Western New York. It is a community-driven blog featuring news and commentary from activists, insiders, and concerned citizens. You are invited to join that community!

How Do User Blogs Work?

If you’re not familiar with what a user blog is and how it works, let me explain. The Buffalo Bean is built on a multi-user version of the popular blogging software called WordPress. This allows us to have multiple blogs on the same installation of Wordpress. That means we can host an unlimited number of blogs with unlimited authors for each. You get to chose your own blog name and blog sub-domain.

If you’ve ever wanted to start your own blog, but didn’t know how to start, we’ve made it easy for you. You don’t have to buy a web domain, or a web hosting plan. You don’t need to pay someone to design your blog for you. We’ve taken care of that. All you’ll have to do is blog!

With your own user blog at The Buffalo Bean, you can write about the issues and stories you care most about. You even have your own blogroll to link to the blogs and websites you like.

The Buffalo Bean welcomes campaigns to consider starting a user blog on The Buffalo Bean. By starting a blog a The Buffalo Bean, your campaign can reach out to voters and activists and build up your grassroots campaign!

Activists
Are you involved in politics and want to take your activism to the blogosphere, but aren’t interested in buying your own domain or paying the cost of a web-hosting plan By starting your own blog at The Buffalo Bean, you can avoid the hassle and costs of doing it on your own, and be a part of a growing online conservative network in Western New York!

Issue-Oriented Blogs
Perhaps you or your group want to advocate or speak out against a particular issue. You could start a blog about tearing down the Skyway, fiscal responsibility, government transparency… anything you want.

Concerned Citizens
You don’t have to be part of a campaign or a political activist to want to make a difference. You may not have the time to help do literature drops for a candidate or go to fundraisers, but that doesn’t mean your voice can’t be heard.
